From Comic Vine: Four Favorites was an inconsistently published anthology comic series that primarily focused on four specific characters per issue (the "four favorites"). The original line-up was all superheroes with "Magno (and Davey)", "Lash Lightning", "Vulcan" and "The Raven". With the fourth issue, Vulcan was switched out for Unknown Soldier (predates the DC character of the same name) and in the following issue The Raven was replaced by...

Ace Comics was the banner under which pulp magazine publisher Aaron A. Wyn and his wife Rose Wyn produced comic books between 1940 and the end of 1956. The Wyns had been publishing pulp fiction under the Periodical House and Magazine Publishers names since 1928. Like many comic book publishers of the day, Ace Comics earlier series included costumed superheroes, although as trends in the comic book market changed by the 1950s the focus shifted more to other genres, such as crime, horror,...

This is a digitized version of an in-store cassette tape that was played within a Kmart store. See the title of the file for the month and year. I worked at Kmart between 1989 and 1999 and held onto them with the hopes that they would be of use some day. Enjoy!

This is a digitized version of an in-store reel to reel tape that was played within a Kmart store in 1973.  In my opinion, the opening Kmart jingle is the most important artifact of this recording, but the music and small number of commercials make it a great listen. This company listed on the original box is Special Recordings, Inc and is out of Detroit Mi.  As Kmart was based in Michigan, this supplier was most likely somewhat nearby. The recording contains both sides, which are 1 hour long...

This collection is a compilation of underground/independently-released cassette tapes from the days when the audio cassette was the standard method of music sharing... generally the mid-eighties through early-nineties. The material represented includes tape experimentation, industrial, avant-garde, indy, rock, diy, subvertainment and auto-hypnotic materials. Much of this material defies category, and has therefore not been given one. The bulk of the tapes in this library were donated to the...

OK, I have to admit this this is a strange collection. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, I worked for Kmart behind the service desk and the store played specific pre-recorded cassettes issued by corporate. This was background music, or perhaps you could call it elevator music. Anyways, I saved these tapes from the trash during this period and this video shows you my extensive, odd collection. Until around 1992, the cassettes were rotated monthly. Then, they were replaced weekly. Finally...
